About Ashland!

Ashland is a vibrant community of 110 homes that are a mix of single-family homes and several types of town homes. We back to the amazing 1600 acre Loch Raven Reservoir Cooperative Wildlife Management Area and we sit right at mile zero of the Torrey C. Brown (NCR) Rail Trail that runs 41 miles north to York Pennsylvania.

We have a rich history; the neighborhood was developed on the grounds of the Ashland Iron Works, an iron foundry built in 1844. In the mid-nineteen eighties, some of the old Iron Works buildings were converted to homes and many new homes were built.  As a community, we could not be better located! Here, people feel that they have all the advantages of living in the country, while we are right near stores, restaurants, public transportation and all conveniences.

Our community thrives with the involvement of many volunteers. We have an active board, an Architectural Review Committee, a Buildings and Grounds Committee, and a dynamic Welcoming and Events Committee. This committee plans ways to welcome new community members as well as activities for us to get to know each other and stay connected. Activities have included picnics, guided history walks, neighborhood clean-up days,trash-to-treasure events, visits from the Easter bunny and Santa on Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Company fire engines, holiday caroling,
and collection drives to help people experiencing homelessness.

Our active Kids' Council has held a pumpkin carving party, a get-together to make animal-friendly holiday tree decorations, a secret Santa exchange, a gingerbread house making party, and a Fourth of July bike parade!
